for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our Facilities
Management team as a Facilities Electrical Engineer. Our fast
paced, National Laboratory setting necessitates that the candidate
be comfortable with ambiguity and variability of assignment and
accept the value of being in a service group. We seek a
well-rounded individual, adept at problem solving in a variety of
settings.On any given day, you may be called on to:Perform
electrical design for building and site infrastructure, or oversees
design by others, and integrate these to ensure safe, reliable, and
efficient operationsLead or be a part of a multi-disciplined group
in the design and develop design & construction document packages
to meet customer requirements, relevant building codes,
environmental regulations, safety regulations, and corporate
standardsPerform engineering analysis, calculations, and develop
construction drawings and specifications sufficient to define
systems for modification or new constructionOversee design and
construction efforts, through in-house and external resources, to
meet established scope, schedule, and cost outcomesManage and
interface with external, contracted resources for the completion of
construction work in compliance with Federal procurement
processesDevelop and/or contribute to development of project plans,
schedules, and estimatesInspect construction progress in accordance
with design requirements, codes, and customer needs, and site
standardsReview plans for constructability and completeness as well
as improve cost effectiveness and customer satisfactionSummarize
completed construction and planning efforts through project close
out processes to maintain site standards and documentationReview,
troubleshoot, and understand building and infrastructure electrical
systems to ensure they will meet customer needs and expectations
and remain in compliance with relevant Building and Safety CodesThe
selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite
work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance
for commuting to the assigned work location when

Laboratories.Qualifications We RequireBachelor's degree in
electrical engineering plus two or more years of relevant
experienceExperience performing electrical design for various
building systems, site electrical distribution, lighting, or other
specialized electrical design relevant to modification/sustainment
of existing facilitiesAbility to manage projects from concept
through design, construction, and closeoutAbility to obtain and
maintain a DOE Q-level security clearanceQualifications We
DesireAbility to obtain Professional Engineer license (PE) in the
State of California within one calendar year of hireMaster's degree
in electrical engineeringKnowledge and experience working NFPA
70EKnowledge of California Building Codes and California
environmental regulationsPMP certification from the Project
Management InstituteExperience with power analysis, grounding
design, and lightning protection systemsExperience utilizing
AutoCAD or similar drafting softwareAbout Our TeamThe Facilities
Management organization operates and maintains existing buildings
and utilities; modifies, and constructs new buildings; demolishes
substandard structures; and provides site services for customers.
This includes providing a variety of logistics services including
shipping, receiving, hazardous material transportation, mail
services, material handling, fleet services, occupant relocations,
event setups, corporate storage, and property management. We enable
