About this opportunity: At Freenome, we are searching for a proven
and collaborative Senior Manager, Payroll Accounting to join our
team! As a Senior Manager, Payroll, you will supervise, monitor,
and evaluate all payroll activities. In addition, you will be
pivotal in developing and implementing processes and systems for
processing, analyzing, verifying, and reporting payroll
information. In this role, you will report directly to our
Director, Accounting. This role will be a Hybrid role. What you’ll
do: Lead semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll timely and accurately
for multi-state employees Lead monthly UK payroll and statutory
reporting Stay up to date with all payroll regulations and
requirements, including tax filings, year-end processing (W-2s),
and internal audits. Ensure compliance with company policies,
federal laws, and state laws Subject matter expert in
researching/understanding new rules and tax regulations pertaining
to payroll Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll and
address employee questions promptly and professionally
Cross-collaborate with Finance and People Teams to manage the
payroll components of employee benefits programs, including health,
dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, and other
company-sponsored benefits Partner with other functional leads
(including Legal and HR) to develop processes which ensure the
accuracy of all payroll data including all aspects of
record-keeping, withholding, reporting, reconciliation, and
auditing Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and
reconciliations related to areas of responsibility Prepare and
maintain accurate records for internal and external audits and
assist with compliance audits as needed. Ensure the confidentiality
and security of data, maintaining data integrity and accuracy of
employee records Ensure payroll process and procedures are
compliant with SOX controls Development of new methodologies and/or
solutions to improve execution of department deliverables Perform
ad-hoc projects, as needed Must haves: Bachelor’s degree,
preferably in accounting 8 years in full-cycle payroll experience
with expertise in processing and managing payrolls for a minimum of
300 employees Typically requires 4 years experience managing direct
reports, including mentoring and coaching An experienced leader in
all facets of payroll and equity related payroll activities
Expertise in payroll accounting functions, journal entries,
accruals, reconciliations, workers comp, leave plans, employee
relations, and benefits administration Proven ability to develop
and streamline various and key payroll process improvements
Experience with SOX compliance and procedures Strong attention to
detail, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to
prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably
established timelines Excellent organization, problem solving and
analytical skills with a strong attention to detail Strong
communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) Ability
to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced
environment while meeting tight deadlines Great sense of urgency
Experience with payroll systems and process improvement Proficiency
in Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly Experience in
global payroll Positive and flexible team player, who can take
ownership of assigned responsibilities Experience with coaching and
developing payroll staff Nice to haves: Payroll certification such
as CPP Benefits and additional information: The US target range of
our base salary for new hires is $157,675 - $242,000. You will also
be eligible to receive pre-IPO equity, cash bonuses, and a full
range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the
position offered. Please note that individual total compensation
for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole
discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not
limited to, location, skill level, years and depth of relevant
