mission! Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an
Aeroacoustics Engineer Level 2/3 with thermodynamics, heat transfer
and fluid flow knowledge for the development and ongoing support of
new and existing turbines, bearings, heat exchangers, and other
system components used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and
power generation systems for the US Navy based out of Sunnyvale, CA
. What You’ll get to Do: Our Sunnyvale site specializes in the
development, manufacture, assembly and testing of propulsion and
power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines.
The candidate selected will apply their skills to support current
and future Navy Power & Propulsion Turbomachinery development.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the
following: Develop and integrate acoustic reduction technologies.
Develop and implement predictive analysis codes; builds and tests
physical models; designs, develops, and builds test and
verification equipment; and develops, tests, and integrates
acoustic solutions. Conduct planning and “roadmapping” for the
development of novel acoustics technologies and innovative designs.
Works closely with other disciplines to optimize the integration of
acoustic technologies. This requisition may be filled at a higher
grade based on qualifications listed below: Basic Qualifications
for Aeroacoustics Engineer Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Science, Technology, Engineering,
Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years related experience; or
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Science,
Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with no
related experience Comprehensive understanding of sound generation
and acoustics transmission through space/materials. Experience in
acoustic test/measurement, data processing, and analysis. Must be a
US citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret security
clearance. Basic Qualifications for Principal Aeroacoustics
Engineer Level 3: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or
related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM)
discipline with 5 years related experience; or Master’s degree in
Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Science, Technology, Engineering,
Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 3 years related experience. or
PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related
Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline
with no related experience. Comprehensive understanding of sound
generation and acoustics transmission through space/materials.
Experience in acoustic test/measurement, data processing, and
analysis. Must be a US citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD
secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Active Secret
clearance. Master's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a
closely related engineering discipline. Primary Level Salary Range:
$91,800.00 - $137,600.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00
- $171,000.00 The above salary range represents a general
guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors
when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
