• 8 years of experience in software development with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• 5 years in a technical leadership role overseeing projects and managing teams.
• Experience with flash storage, systems software, kernel drivers, and hardware server platforms.Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience working with vendors and standards bodies.
  • Experience with ASIC development and lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with SSDs, embedded software, storage subsystems, and protocols like NVMe, Fibre Channel, SCSI.About the RoleAs a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you will provide technical leadership for major projects and manage a team of engineers. You will oversee project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team. Your work spans areas like information retrieval, AI, distributed computing, and more, operating at scale and speed.The Platforms Storage team develops storage solutions for Google's services, including NAND flash, SSDs, and next-gen storage technologies, ensuring supply and developing firmware, drivers, and security solutions.Our organization, ML, Systems, & Cloud AI, manages hardware, software, and infrastructure for Google services and Cloud, emphasizing security, efficiency, and reliability, with a global impact.Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to onboard storage systems and strategize portfolio development.
    • Lead evaluation and development of new storage technologies and management solutions.
    • Manage and mentor a team of SSD storage software engineers and managers.
