Medical Technologist Location: King City, CA Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $70 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days Contract Duration: 13 Days Start Date: ASAP About the Position Mammography Technologist – UHC Staffing Mammography Technologist Location: King City, CA Start Date: 02-10-2026 End Date: 05-12-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Variable 10-hour shifts, 4 days/week (4/10s). Shift times vary by schedule (day and evening coverage possible). Includes take-call as assigned, rotating coverage. Roles & Responsibilities Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams following established protocols Ensure accurate patient positioning and optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles Review physician orders and coordinate imaging exams with radiologists and other imaging modalities Track and retrieve prior mammography images for comparison to support accurate interpretation Provide compassionate patient education on breast health and self-exam techniques Support Bone Density exams and assist with CT, general X-ray, and fluoroscopy/OR procedures as needed Serve as a technical resource for breast imaging, quality control, and equipment operation Participate in departmental committees and community outreach to promote mammography services Take call as assigned and perform other duties to ensure patient-centered care Qualifications ARRT registration in Radiography and ARRT registration in Mammography Active California Radiologic Technologist License Active California Mammographic Technologist License Active California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification California Venipuncture Certificate required within 3 months of hire Minimum of 5 years of mammography technologist experience Ability to stand and walk for long periods, assist with positioning and equipment handling Knowledge & Skills Screening and diagnostic mammography techniques and breast imaging best practices ALARA radiation safety principles and image quality optimization Positioning, radiographic principles, and quality control procedures Fluoroscopy, general X-ray, CT assistance, and Bone Density exam support Patient education, advocacy, and care coordination across the lifespan Equipment operation, maintenance basics, and prior image retrieval Interdisciplinary coordination with radiologists and imaging teams Benefits Travel support and local housing assistance for contract clinicians, making your transition easier Medical, dental and vision coverage options to keep you healthy and supported Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help you maintain credentials AHA BLS support and continuing education opportunities to keep your skills sharp Paid time off to recharge and maintain work-life balance A collaborative, community-focused team that values your expertise Opportunities to work across multiple imaging modalities to expand your skill set Professional growth and participation in departmental committees and outreach Travel Perks: Explore King City, CA King City sits in the beautiful Salinas Valley, with quick access to Pinnacles National Park for hiking, birding and rock formations.
