global connectivity. About the Role Limit Break is looking for a
Technical Director, Games to lead our Unity engineering function
across a globally distributed team. In this role, you will own the
execution, performance, and evolution of Unity- based development
across our mobile-first, live service games. You will work closely
with Art, Product, Design, QA and Platform teams to ensure our
Unity engineers deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant game
experiences. As a hands-on leader, you will focus on team
execution, engineering excellence, and scalable development
practices—ensuring our global teams are aligned, efficient, and
empowered to move quickly. You will play a critical role in
connecting global teams, standardizing workflows, and driving
consistency across Unity development. Responsibilities: What You'll
do As a key leader within the engineering organization, you will:
Lead and manage a global team of Unity engineers, ensuring strong
execution, clear ownership, and alignment across time zones. Mentor
and develop Unity engineers, integrators, and technical
contributors to deliver high-quality, performant solutions. Drive
best practices for Unity development, including architecture,
performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.
Establish and improve engineering workflows that enable rapid
iteration, efficient collaboration, and reliable releases. Own and
evolve shared Unity frameworks, tooling, and integrations that
accelerate development across teams. Partner cross-functionally
with Product, Art, Design, QA, Platform Engineering, and Publishing
to ensure smooth delivery across the game lifecycle. Collaborate
with executive stakeholders to align technical direction,
priorities, and execution strategies. Manage resource allocation
and sprint planning across Unity teams, balancing priorities and
optimizing delivery. Ensure code quality through strong testing
practices, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering
standards. Foster a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative
engineering culture across a distributed global team. Requirements:
Who you are and what you've done 12 years of experience managing
development teams encompassing Unity Engineering and collaboration
with cross-functional departments including Product, Technical Art,
Design and QA. Proven experience as a director or senior
engineering leader within the mobile gaming industry. Experience
leading and scaling Unity engineering teams in a global,
distributed environment. Strong technical expertise in Unity and
client-side game development. Hands-on experience with live service
games, including performance optimization and content update
pipelines. Demonstrated success in improving engineering workflows,
team efficiency, and delivery velocity. Experience establishing and
maintaining engineering best practices, including code quality and
KPI tracking. Experience working across multiple time zones and
managing globally distributed teams. Strong collaboration skills,
with the ability to work effectively across Product, Art, Design,
QA, and Platform teams. Solid understanding of agile development
practices and iterative, hypothesis-driven development. Excellent
communication and leadership skills, with a focus on clarity,
accountability, and team growth. $250,000 - $350,000 a year What
You'll Get in Return The base salary range for this position in
California is $250,000 – $350,000 annually. Individual compensation
will be determined based on experience, skills, and other
